Â We exist to serve the middle school and high school students of Abbeville and Henry County, AL as the body of Christ that gathers at First Baptist Church, Abbeville. Â Whether you are a student or a parent of a student, on this site you will find a variety of information about what is happening in our student ministry!
The name Emmaus Student Ministry comes from the last chapter of the Gospel of Luke. Â After Jesus had conquered death and rose from the grave, He met two men traveling on the road to Emmaus. Â As the walked together, Jesus, “beginning with Moses and all the Prophets…interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24:27). Â The men later on realized that it was Jesus Christ and had a moment of clarity, saying to themselves, “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the Scriptures?”
Our desire for students who take part in our youth ministry is that, as we open the Scriptures, then our hearts would burn for Jesus and His glorious Gospel. Â Come and join us to experience His goodness and His greatness!
